If you’re new to the wedding dress search, we’ll quickly explain how buying your wedding dress typically works…
Firstly, there’s placing an order for a new dress. This means you try the samples in the shop & when you find YOUR dress, we place an order for you for that dress in your size. This means that your dress is ordered in especially for you & comes in brand new. Orders on new dresses take 4-6 months to be delivered.
We continuously have new season stock arriving & therefore that means we have to get rid of samples too or we’d run out of space on our rails! Therefore, we also have a selection of dresses which are available to buy ‘off the peg’. This means you are literally buying the sample that is displayed in the shop, these dresses have been tried on by other brides but never altered or worn outside so still in great condition. As they have been tried on, they are available to buy at discounted prices. They are also perfect if you’re on a shorter time scale as you take them home with you the very same day.
Over the past couple of years, we have hosted pop up sample sales at the beautiful Dunston Hall, which our brides have LOVED. And don’t worry, this event isn’t going anywhere. We can let you in on the secret that we do have one confirmed for the new year. HOWEVER, we didn’t think we could make you wait that long without a sneaky event in between & besides, our rails are currently bursting!
So this leads us to our next event…
For one weekend only we will be hosting a sample sale at the shop, with prices starting as low as £300 & some dresses having savings of over £1100!
We have around 60 designer dresses available in sizes 8-24 from either our Morilee or Stella York collections. And when we say sample sale, were not talking big queues, grab what you can jumble sale, were talking the same style of exclusive appointment in our private fitting room with a few loved ones of your choice. Appointments will be 45 minutes long as well as additional time for browsing. This may sound short & it is a faster pace, however, trust us for a sample sale its just right.
We have two top tips for making the most of this event;
- Come ready to say “YES”. There’s no reservations & its first come first serve. So if you find something you love, be ready to go for it or the next bride might just snap it up! As ever, we will never pressure you into a sale but we’d hate for you to miss out on something because you’re not ready, so have it in mind that this could very well be the day you say yes.
- Make an occasion of it! Come, have your bridal appointment & plan to go and celebrate afterwards at a local café or bar. We have lots of recommendations we can make, just ask!
